This policy explains the information used by Salt Donkey’s website and recurring delivery service. For privacy questions or requests about your information, contact ty@saltdonkey.com or 801-441-0090.
Information you provide
When you submit a delivery request, we collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, service and plan preferences, optional notes, and contact consent. Ty uses these details to confirm availability and follow up about your request. This contact consent is not consent to marketing texts.
When you create an account or enroll, we collect your name, email address, delivery address, selected service, bag count, plan length, and any softener information or delivery notes you provide. We also keep account verification, plan consent, delivery, billing, and support records needed to operate the service.
Passwords are stored as password hashes. Please do not put sensitive personal information or private entry codes in delivery notes. Arrange sensitive access details directly with Ty when needed.
Payment information
Stripe collects and processes your payment method through its secure checkout and billing portal. Salt Donkey stores references to your Stripe customer, payment setup, invoices, and payments so we can bill scheduled deliveries and show your payment history. Salt Donkey does not receive or store your full card number.
How information is used
We use your information to verify your account, check address eligibility, arrange and deliver salt, manage your plan, process charges, respond to your requests, send service emails, and protect account access. Service emails include verification and password reset messages, plan and delivery updates, and billing information.
Your street address, city, state, and ZIP code are sent to the U.S. Census Bureau’s address geocoding service to locate your home and compare it with Salt Donkey’s delivery boundaries. Payment and customer details needed to process charges are shared with Stripe. Service emails are processed through our email delivery provider. Website hosting and other service infrastructure process information as needed to run the website.
Cookies and browser storage
The website uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and protect account requests. During enrollment, your browser’s session storage temporarily keeps your draft address and delivery choices so you can continue after verifying your email or refreshing the page. This draft is removed after successful payment setup or logout and is not reused after about one hour.
The site does not include advertising trackers. The owner’s route editor loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap, which receives the network information needed to display those tiles.
Access and retention
Authorized Salt Donkey owners can view customer details needed for delivery, billing, and account support. Account actions and billing events are recorded to support reliable service and investigate problems. We keep records needed to administer your account, fulfill deliveries, resolve billing questions, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations.
You can update plan information and your payment method through your account. Contact Ty to request an address correction, account assistance, or deletion of information. Some transaction and operational records may need to be retained even after a plan is canceled.
